Rainbow Pasta Making: Finding Inspiration in our New Reality with Stacey Bendet
It has been uncomfortable to think about how to appropriately talk about clothing, accessories or anything related to fashion right now. Each day and week of this experience has been unprecedented. The first week felt like a heavy haze, the second week felt like an early April Fools prank and now the reality of it all has set in. My nature is to try and stay positive, search for meaning, solicit advice and feedback from people I love, trust and admire and to stay mentally and physically strong to the best of my ability. On many levels, I recognize that my desire to want to be inspired and stay creative and busy is an indulgence. All of this being said, my gut instinct is to find the light moments in every situation, even this one. I’m not sure I’ll be able to cheer everyone up but, I’m sure gonna try!!
This post will mark the first of its kind. I’ve had the privilege to work alongside some of the most inventive, creative and kind individuals in my industry over the years. They have inspired me daily which is probably why the years flew by so fast! I consider myself very lucky. To hear firsthand how my colleagues are making the most of each day in our new reality brightens my day. It is fitting that my first profile is with Stacey Bendet, CEO and creative director of Alice and Olivia. The truth is I would be hard pressed to name someone as creative, consistent and focussed as she is. I am motivated by her passion, fearlessness and discipline in all things-- not to mention her brand has clothed me for some of the happiest and most significant moments in my life including multiple Today Show appearances and my best friend Erica’s wedding to name a few.
