One and Done

Anyone else scratching their head trying to figure out how it’s the first week of December? I’m having a deja vous moment….again.  I feel like I actually just said these words, yesterday. By the way, has anyone seen the movie Yesterday? Non sequitur but if you have not, do yourself a favor. It’s beyond adorable, especially on a flight.

So here we are. Another holiday season upon us. It is *almost* time to take stock of the calendar year otherwise known as #2019 and to come up with a battle plan to get through all the holiday merriment in one piece. Kidding!! Kinda. I promise there is a very bright side to all of this introspection.  This time of year often has the best parties to dress for-- and by dress, I mean dress up!  I like that I have the chance to do it better this year, to learn from past holiday party looks gone awry. I also get genuinely excited about all the sparkle, shine, feathers, sequins and velvet in my near future. I’m not looking for permission to wear these things day to day, I just love the unapologetic cadence of excess that this time of year ushers in especially because it’s not my personal norm.

I’ve learned some tricks along the way to get better prepared for the next few weeks! For example, clutches don’t work for me at cocktail parties. If I’m holding a glass with one hand and use my free hand to gesture, it just doesn’t work..but that’s me. I love bold rings because when you’re holding the aforementioned glass, people actually see your hands :-) However, I’m writing today to really tell you to “invest in a party jumpsuit” for the season. It’s that perfect item in the closet that works for multiple occasions and truly answers the “festive” dress mandate that often arrives in the mail! Owning one can change your life and I think one can’t own too many great ones. They are comfortable, chic and easy, period.  Designers are stepping up their jumpsuit game and the range in looks and price points is expansive.

I was lucky to have the opportunity to wear the illusion, sequin combination jumpsuit pictured here this morning on KTLA from Vince Camuto during a holiday television segment. Vince Camuto makes some of the best approachably priced versions around that capture the trends but in a truly wearable way. I felt glamorous and am excited about all the places this will take me. That’s how you know you’ve found a good one; you should be shocked by your physical comfort and electrified by how fun you feel..you may even find yours has pockets! Cheers to the jumpsuits that will ensure this last month of the year is festive, celebratory, fruitful, memorable and of course stylish.. #nopressure.
