Purple Reign

It has been way too long since my last post. This is my first one this year which is symbolic of how busy it’s been. I still get the chills when I realize it’s 2020!  2019 was a year filled with change for me and went by in what feels like a flash. Highlights of the year include: moving across the country to Los Angeles, raising my angel puppy Ted and learning how to be a dog mom, starting a new role as a contributing editor to Variety magazine, reconnecting with childhood friends and family and overall taking big risks with an open mind and heart.

Today's post is dedicated to “the color power suit. Why? Because clothing can truly be an extension of our mood and I think a little color therapy is just what the doctor ordered right now. It’s not a secret that a great fitting suit can augment feelings of confidence. I’ve been drawn to all the variations of suits and blazers available right now- there are many.  Head to toe monochromatic suiting done in a fresh range of colors makes sense. If you’re asking what palette to consider as we start shopping for spring, my eye is laser focussed on shades of pastels but done in a slightly more vivid version than the easter eggs you’re imagining. Purples (from bright to lilic), pinks (hot to ballet slipper), mints and blues (medium brights to ice) look newest. If the proposition of a full suit look is too much, consider embracing this new palette in some aspect of your wardrobe- a new color blazer for spring can upgrade any denim look. Styling back to your white denim, blue denim and even grey denim will instantly give your existing closet a lift. Below are images of the purple Veronica Beard suit I wore last week on E! Daily Pop in honor of #Internationalwomensday. I love accessorizing a color suit in this specific palette back to a bright white shoe (sneakers, loafers and heels all apply as well as a bright white underpinning- from cami’s to t’s and knits). I’m attaching some great blazer options in the links below as well.
