Bling it On with Adina Reyter
Moving to LA has been one big reunion of sorts for me. I have found myself repeatedly surprised and delighted to rediscover friends I’ve made over the course of my life who live here. The scope is broad, incredibly random and very LA. In this grouping, I rediscovered friends- even boyfriends from my middle school dances, aspiring ballerinas from performing arts camp and a tarot card reader to the stars who I met working for Conan O’Brien one summer. And while I knew in advance that many of my colleagues in the fashion industry lived here or had ventured west after a time in New York, I certainly miscalculated how many old friends I would reconnect with. I remember meeting many of these individuals in that golden window of time I’ll call “pre-adulthood”, post college in New York.
I was fortunate to have Adina Reyter on my radar screen since the early 2000’s. We were both in the early stage of our professional lives. Instagram hadn’t been invented yet so finding new brands and talent as a magazine editor was a bit like using the Dewey Decimal system. Designers would send hard copy look books through the Post Office and we would pour through them looking for talent. Adina’s jewelry quickly became a fixture in the pages of InStyle Magazine. Her signature look then and now, are perfectly sized personal pieces for women. From classic stud earrings to delicate micro pave necklaces she has perfected the art of scale. Very few designers are able to pack so many details into such refined small gems. It’s the jewelry you buy and never take off even in the shower and it’s the jewelry you are thrilled to receive because it’s exactly what you wanted. If there is a way to describe her style it is classic sans boring. Adina makes the classics dynamic and modern again.

Enjoy.

WHERE SHE IS RIGHT NOW: LOS ANGELES, CA
WHAT SHE IS WEARING FROM HOME THESE DAYS:
“Surprise! Jewelry is my foundation of every outfit (even in sweatpants). I really believe that my Adina Reyter jewelry is the core of how I present myself to the world. Whether in real life or a video call, it makes me feel put together and confident. In these work from home times, it can be tempting to not even get dressed, but putting on jewelry makes me feel ready for the day, and looks so good in a video conference :) Right now I'm pairing it with sweats and workout wear, so I'm ready to walk outside and exercise at some point in the day. My favorites are sweats from The Great - they are the perfect compliment to my AR jewelry and feel amazing!”

WHAT SHE IS DOING TO STAY CREATIVE, POSITIVE AND CONNECTED:
“Creativity is alive and well during this shelter at home period. From a business perspective, we are focused on design and making sure our future collections are both beautiful and meaningful. We also have more time to show more of our brand personality and the realities of work from home on social media. I'm also involving my kids in my business by teaching them the art of merchandising and using them as my Instagram and social media content creators. We are cooking and hiking too! I've always loved to cook and be outdoors and am using this time to explore new recipes and our neighborhood with my kids.”
FAVORITE RECIPE RIGHT NOW:
“Because we have more time, we have been trying different recipes that take a little more time than normal, but so much fun! Love the recipe's on Goop - they are all healthy and delicious. This is one we just tried.”

HOW SHE IMPROVES MOOD THROUGH STYLE CHOICES
“Jewelry, more than any other fashion item, carries meaning. My jewelry is a constant reminder of the most important parts of my life. I never take off my 5-diamond amigos necklace because each diamond represents the five members of my family (myself, my husband and our 3 kids). Putting on jewelry everyday not only improves my mood, but reminds me what's important and this is needed now more than ever. “
