Celebrity Vacation Style
Is it just me or is every celebrity in Italy right now with some obscenely delicious looking carbohydrate in the frame ! I’ve enjoyed tracking everyones stylish journeys abroad so much that it inspired an entire segment on E! News this past Friday. It’s also motivating me to book a trip to Italy pronto! For the segment, I honed in on Kate Hudson, Gwenyth Paltrow and Sofia Vergara who I felt were serving major muse vibes. We still have six more (but who’s counting) glorious summer weekends to take advantage of so, we might as well look fabulous while the season lasts. The best news is that everything featured in the segment retails for under $100.00. I will also include some picks at all price points below that I think are worth knowing about.
MUSE 1- KATE HUDSON
TRENDS:
1. The Sexy One Piece Bathing Suit- She wore a plunging V Neckline which looks fresh. I like the more architectural suits to be solid so you can really appreciate the silhouette.
2. The Top Knot Headband- Headbands and hair accessories are fashions new exclamation point! It’s the easiest way to modernize any summer look. You can literally buy them everywhere from CVS to Bloomingdales. If all you added to your summer rotation was a headband, that would be enough to feel fresh...seriously!
3. Layered Coins and Discs- I liked how Kate capitalized on her low neckline with some layered discs. Coins and Discs (in gold tone) are looking au courant. I love the one we featured from J crew!
4. Shorts- shorts are having a fashion awakening. I never feel excited to buy them but this season are reasons to. I think crochet beach shorts are a modern cover up approach. These textured shorts from Surf Gypsy practically leapt off the table into my arms- there was an emotional connection :-)

MUSE 2- GWENYTH PALTROW
Gwenyth + gelato photo had me at hello. I admire how G is all about reimagining the classics. Her look is timeless. I imagine she isn’t someone who often looks back at old photos and utters “what was I thinking?” #goals
TRENDS:
Hats- You heard it here: THIS IS THE SUMMER OF THE HAT. Here she is wearing a Panama Style Hat which is always in fashion but more importantly, celebrities have shown us to go BIG this summer with our hat game. Write this down “portrait hat” - a hat you should take a portrait in or “yacht hat”- you just need the hat not the yacht! There are beautiful versions at all price points. This is a summer must.
The Shirtdress- or “old faithful”. The shirtdress will never let you down. I love that Gwenyth’s is a little more feminine with a ruffled edge. The tie belt gives it nice definition at the waist which makes everything look better.
Aviator Sunglasses- Proven shape if you’re lost at sea with all the choices. Always a chic classic.

MUSE 3 SOFIA VERGARA
TRENDS:
The Romantic Printed Dress- Sophia wore relaxed feminine printed dresses throughout her trip to Italy that really capture the essence of what’s happening in fashion. I’ve said it a few times: invest in a dress that you could leap through a field in that’s really the spirit we’re after.
Basket Bags- hard sided basket bags are of the moment even though artisans on Nantucket island have been weaving them for centuries. I liked how Sofia’s was large enough to actually put her phone and makeup in.
