Fall Trends With E! News
TREND #1 Warming Trend
Caramel, honey, cappuccino and chocolate. I’m not hungry, I’m just excited about all the delicious shades of brown in fashion this fall and the idea of mixing them head to toe. Usually about this time of year we start pulling out black as the one old faithful neutral to style with everything. Black by no means disappears this season, it’s just that it must share the stage with brown. The product offering in shades of brown is impressive and broad. The key to making it look elevated no matter what the price point, is to mix textures. The look I featured today on E! News shows warm tones on a budget. Note *snakeskin and leopard* print are great ways to bring novelty to an outfit like this. Slouchy brown boots or high boots in snakeskin print would also be a winning choice back to this look.
Trend # 2 Power Plaids
You aren’t imagining things if you realized plaids were also a major trend last fall 2018. The difference to me this year with all of the trends is the notion of a more head to toe commitment. 2019 feels like it’s gently whispering to us “just go for it.” Do the full suit this year instead of just the blazer if that speaks to you. Another idea that feels fresh to me, is popping your plaid with pink. Both grey and brown based plaids lend themselves to the hue. I love how the pink suddenly adds a softer and more playful energy to plaid which can sometimes feel serious. If you invested in a great plaid blazer last fall, try buying a lipstick pink tank for underneath. This might be enough to make last years plaid feel 2019 appropriate.
Trend #3 Vegan Leather
Guilt free and affordable, vegan leather is the new “leather”. Brands of all kinds are embracing alternative fabrications that look like real leather. It’s all about committing to this idea in a bolder way than before. From boiler suits to dresses, find a statement piece for the season- the options are incredible and budget friendly. It’s also ok to style a leather looking outfit back to leather accessories. Finding texture is the key. Moc croc, is a great answer. It’s the look of crocodile skin but faux and makes shoes and bags look expensive. Mini bags seems to be fashions cherry on top of the sundae. Now I am actually making myself hungry :-)
